The collaboration between Voxygen and Bouygues Telecom is based on a long-standing trust, as Voxygen has been providing its text-to-speech solutions to Bouygues Telecom since 2016.

The project got off to a gradual start with the initial adaptation of a catalogue voice to the specific needs of Bouygues Telecom: additional recordings of business phrases, creation of lexicons to handle non-standard terminology. The adapted voice was used in the Voxygen Studio message creation tool for specific IVR messages requiring a deployment responsiveness not achievable with natural voice recordings.

In 2020 Bouygues Telecom, aware of the importance of having a voice identity deployed and harmonised across all channels, embarked with Voxygen and Sonacom Studio on the creation of the digital voice of its preferred speaker Isabelle. The idea was to bring together the e-Zabel digital voice and the natural voice, each with its own specific uses.

The creation of the digital voice was a success, both in terms of the project and the quality achieved, enabling Bouygues Telecom to move up a gear in its speech synthesis deployment. Digital voice enables the company to respond to changing usage patterns in terms of customer service interaction and automation.

Voice is now not only used via Voxygen Studio alongside an English voice from Voxygen, but also deployed in Bouygues Telecom's IVRs and voicebots via our on-premise Voxygen Server solution, scaled to handle more than 40 million interactions a year.
